Day1 in Yongin ,Korea - 22Jan2012
January 31, 2012
Chinese New Year is the most important traditional festival for all Chinese. Chinese New Year is a time for families to be together. Celebrations include having annual reunion dinner on CNY Eve , setting firecrackers , giving lucky money to children , sending and visiting CNY greetings to friends & relatives , dragon and lion dance. We are local , we don't have home town to visit and also our family member is small so this year we decided to travel on CNY. We choose to go to Korea , and is a unanimous choice. My special little brother , doesn't like to travel because he hate longhall flight. He does not fancy in traveling to far country , furthermore its CNY , he want to spend time having fun with friends, gambling and of course collecting ang-pao.
The flight took us about 6hours . . . .
Once I stepped out from Seoul airport , I was like "DAMN" this is not just cold , it's death COLD! I was freezing , even with my long john on. The weather is as cold as ice , plus the wind, its really ICE! OKay finally this is what I really call cold , because I also couldn't stand it. Normally I'm the one who can stand the coldness, but not this time. Now I'm feeling it with the temperature as low as -15c. So the first day is all about the visiting the Yongin . First stop is at Everland Yongin.
Spend half a day in Everland. Everland is South Korea's largest theme park. With 8.6 million visitors, Everland ranked 10th in the world for amusement park attendance in 2007. A huge theme park suitable for family and children. It is divided into sections according to different themes , filled with lots of trilling rides. Some activities were too extreme and not suitable for young children. It was definitely worth spending a day in Everland.
Due to the cold weather, I did not went on any rides. We just walked and took pictures all over. The weather is way too cold and I did not prepare for such cold weather on the first day . We did took the open air cable car called the "Human Sky" to go to the Zoo-topia. Zoo-topia is an animal themed portion. There is petting zoo , pony rides and animal shows. There is also a a safari bus ride which shows animals such as Ligers and bears roaming in a contained habitat. We are caged up in the bus.
Lastly a family picture together .
Off our journey to the Yong Pyong Ski resort and had a night there.
Stay tune for the next day . . . . . . . Day 2 !
