BKK Day 3 - The Grand Palace.

September 07, 2012

It's a HOT HOT day , look at the girl beside me you will know.
So its day 3 at Bangkok with boyfie and his family and the place I've been wanting to visit is The Grand Palace. A must for any new comer to Thailand , get a photo of the golden temple stretching towards the blue sky! Actualy we were there on day 2 but the ticket counter is closed on 3.30pm and we were there at 4pm , too late! So this time we plan our trip earlier and we made it. So plan your trip earlier , because the ticket counter is closed at 3.30pm , the palace is close at 6pm. The Grand Palace is one of the must see sight while you're at Bangkok. The entrance fees is 400bath per person.

Important note about the Grand Palace.

A strict dress code applies. Visitors must be properly dressed before being allowed entry to the temple. Men must wear long pants and shirts with sleeves (no tank tops. If you're wearing sandals or flip-flops you must wear socks (in other words, no bare feet.) Women must be similarly modestly dressed. No see-through clothes, bare shoulders, etc. If you show up at the front gate improperly dressed, there is a booth near the entrance that can provide clothes to cover you up properly (a deposit is required).

The Grand Palace of Bangkok is a grand old dame indeed, that continues to have visitors in awe with its beautiful architecture and intricate detail, all of which is a proud salute to the creativity and craftsmanship of Thai people. Within its walls were also the Thai war ministry, state departments, and even the mint. Today, the complex remains the spiritual heart of the Thai Kingdom.

  Royal Reception Halls
Nowadays its impressive interior is used for important ceremonial occasions like coronations. It also contains the antique throne, used before the Western style one presently in use.
Look at the sky , is a bad sign !!!
It was not a good day , the sky color is a bad sign. By the time we could leave , its already pouring like cats and dogs. Everyone we're running and rushing into taxi but it was too late because we were all wet already. 3pm bought the tickets , standing under the hot sun with my long sleeve shirt , sweating like shit and by the time I see the sky dark , it was only 4pm. The museum and many more building we haven't really go in and have a look closer. Wasted our 400bath entrance fees! But we were really impressed with the stunning buildings there. The architecture is really interesting.

Absolutely worth visiting!
Suggest you all to go in the morning , to avoid the super hot sun in the noon
and also cloudy raining day in the evening.
